Well-trained staff provide safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work. Like all Y programs, child care is open to all, with financial assistance available. Staff members are partners with parents and other caregivers, working together to help kids grow up healthy, happy and strong.
After School Fun Club
Need a safe place for your children between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.? The YMCA is just the place! The After School Fun Club provides care for children in grades 1st – 6th every day that school is in full session. The Brown County School District provides transportation from school to the YMCA. Children are provided a snack and quiet time to complete homework. When the studying is done, children participate in craft, game and physical activities. In addition, collaboration takes place with the Mt. Sterling Public Library, 4H and the University of Illinois Extension office which provides additional educational programming for the children. What a great way for them to spend their time after school!
Through funding from the United Way of Brown County, the YMCA is able to
keep the fees for the after school program at a low per child rate
of $18 per week for members and $32 per week for nonmembers. The YMCA
is a great place for children to spend their after school hours! Call
773-2230 for further details.
